Why Join Our PTO?
Your help makes a big difference to your child's school. Travis Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) focuses on promoting a sense of community within our school. Our Mission is to provide support to our school and families. Why become a member or volunteer? It will mean you are helping your child and our school! Our meeting schedule is published to the right and as a PTO member your attendance at our general meetings is not mandatory, but very welcome. We encourage your attendance to assist us with coming up with new ideas to benefit our school. We offer many events for our students throughout the year that need volunteers. We appreciate all volunteers and many volunteer activities do not require a lot of time. Visit this site regularly or join our FaceBook group for the most up to date volunteer needs. As a PTO member, all membership and fundraising funds go directly to our school. As a military school, we understand constant rotation and the need for immediate results. With our PTO, all funds raised this year will be used on our students this year! Our funds are used in a wide variety of areas to support our school. Education budget cuts have led to the decrease of funds for playground equipment, supplies, field trips and technology. Our PTO raises funds to supplement these activities and provide more for our students. Every classroom is given funds to help with field trip and classroom costs. New equipment is regularly purchased for playground use. We also assist in updating technology used at our school. |
